Denmark was a human nation located in Northern Europe on Earth in the Sol System. It was bordered to the south by Germany. In addition, Greenland and the Faroe Islands in the Atlantic Ocean were part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Denmark first emerged as a unified kingdom in the 8th century.
Denmark was neutral during the Great War. The country was a founding member of the League of Nations in 1919.
In 1956 Denmark joined the European Union. In 1968 the European Union was merged with the Commonwealth of Nations to form the United Commonwealth.
The government of the United Commonwealth federalised in 1988. The Danish government was therefore effectively absorbed into the United Commonwealth Government in 1988, and Denmark is largely regarded to have ceased to exist as a separate nation-state on that date.
